REGION DINNER 2012

Chiltern Region once again held its annual dinner at the Best Western Buckingham Hotel, Buckingham on Saturday 28th January 2012.
The event was well attended with over 80 members, visitors and guests present. We were pleased to welcome as our guest, the Clubs Membership Services Director, Mr Paul Jones and his wife Lisa. We were also honoured to receive the Clubs Chairman, Mr Albert Walker who had a presentation to make.
Many members booked for the complete weekend and made full use of the facilities the hotel has to offer which includes gymnasium, swimming pool, steam room and Jacuzzi. Unfortunately the sauna was out of action due to all the facilities being upgraded!
After the formalities of the dinner and toasts/speeches, the Clubs Chairman, Mr Albert Walker presented the Club’s certificate of Honour to Mr Bob Palmer in recognition of all he has done (and continues to do) for the benefit of all members of the club and not just our Region.
As usual, the hotel did the Region proud with a good spread of food for the dinner on Saturday with the usual entertainment from Design Duo with dancing until midnight.
For those who arrived on Friday, we were also supplied with a well-prepared carvery for Friday evening and bumper breakfasts as has become the norm for this hotel.
Sunday morning came round all too quick and after a hearty breakfast, sadly we had to say our goodbyes and return home for another year.
For those that enjoyed the weekend, the venue has been provisionally booked for 26th January 2013 and to which I hope many of you will again attend? Get your bookings in early though, as this event is getting ever more popular and we are nearing our maximum number for this venue?
